Fried what???

About a week ago my friend Tiffany and I went to El Som to eat. It is pretty much tradition that we go there when we meet for dinner. We both love to get the nachos. YUMMY! This time I had mentioned to her that I heard they had fried icecream for dessert. We decided to order one and try it. WOW it was horrible. We both laughed about it! I guess they put cornflakes in the middle of the icecream and I wasn't expecting that. I made a joke about it saying that she should swish all the icecream in her mouth and it would be like eating cereal because of the cornflakes. We both had a good laugh with that! Needless to say we will no longer be eating dessert at the wonderful El Som.
This is also the night that Tiff gave me my very first Chi and I love it!

A day at the Smith's

I am so thankful and blessed to have a job that I love. I love nothing more than to wake up and to know I am going to see my girls. Olivia (2) is full of energy and keeps me going all day long. She is full of smiles and is always repeating things I say or do. She absolutely LOVES to dance and knows how to turn the cd player on. I tell her to "shake your booty Olivia" and she will start dancing like crazy! Hillary is the "snuggle-bug" of the bunch. She will blow you kisses (that I taught her to do) and she will just come and lay her head on you. She is a bundle of joy. I just love this family and feel as though these kids are like my own!

Tradition....

Whenever I am with friends I ALWAYS pull out the camera because I honestly think there is no better way to capture a moment then with a camera. Jordan and I were at lunch with the New Bethany crew at Stevie B's and we decided to take some picture. Here they are!

Dinner with Friends!

At the beginning of this month I got to go eat with some old friends. We used to be very good friends and then every one of us went our separate ways to college or through marriage we do not see each other much. My friend Nicole is pregnant and is due in April. I am so happy for her.
We went to dinner at Nichol's Diner with is one of the best places to eat. I am so thankful that we were able to spend a couple of hours catching up and sharing our past memories. Hopefully, we will make it a priority to get together more often.

A night with Joey and Lindsay!

We were able to get together with Joey and Lindsay for some dinner right after Christmas. Since we are no longer at their church it is sometimes hard to get together with them but when we do we have a lot of fun! These are two people that we love dearly.
We went to an Italian restaurant called Provino's and it was amazing. Lindsay even had me try this dessert and though it was a bit different it was pretty good. Here are the pictures from that night

WOW!!

This past weekend Andy and I visited Browns Bridge Church and it was AMAZING. I think that it is different that we do not have a "church home" but I also think it is a good thing. This has allowed both Andy and I to step outside of our "comfort zone" to be surrounded by an atmosphere we may not be used to.
Andy Stanley is a wonderful preacher who is full of love for Christ. He does a fantastic job in communicating the word of God but also making it applicable to everyday life. He challenges believers to do things they may not do on a daily basis. This past sunday he focused on finances. I am sure most churches are making this the highlight of their sermons since the new year is here and alot of people focus all their time and energy on resolutions. He talked about honoring God with all of our money and that it isn't just about being the best saver, spender or giver but realizing it is what you do with ALL the money God has blessed you with that is crucial. He referred to it as being "balanced". This sermon really hit home to me because though I am wonderfully gifted in saving I am not great with giving as I should.
During the next 6 months as Andy searches for a new job (the company he works for is going under) I am challenging myself to not stress over the money situations that I find myself doing. I am going to continue to try to be positive through all of this! I know God won't have us endure what we can not handle!

in desperate need of a change...

I made a promise to myself to start blogging atleast once every other day and I have already failed on the commitment to myself. I feel as though I am in a "rut" that will never end. I feel as though I have drifted from who I know "donna stands for" and it saddens me to think that I am just not ME anymore. I want to be able to be happy again...not just semi-happy but REALLY be able to be genuine about my happiness. I know most of my misery comes from my the spiritual warfare that I swear is going on all around me. I am not compelled to read my Bible much less pray and I feel myself everyday falling further and further out of the hands of my loving father---the one person who I know without a doubt loves me for me and wants to see me grow closer to Him and realize the importance of my daily walk. I write all of this to say----sometimes God takes things away and allows suffering in ones life so that people will reach for more of Him and continuously seek Him in the midst of hurt and sadness. I hope that I am able to look back at all of the trials and see that God was there the whole time-I just missed His kind tug on my heart because of the sin taking over!

Happy New Year-2009!!!

Last night for New Years Eve we went to the Peach Drop in downtown and I have never seen so many people in my life. It was so crazy! When we would walk through town we would literally have to hold onto each other and just push to move through the crowd.....I had a blast though! I think that it was worth the cold too! It was freezing as we waited anxiously for the peach to drop...I thought I would never get warm! It was funny because when it was nearly midnight we got as close as possible to the Marta station so that we could make a mad dash for it---and we did! Thank you to Sarah, Mike and Andy for a wonderful New Years Eve!!
